The winds exceeded 30 knots, equivalent to 56 km/h. According to the Santos Port Authority (APS), navigation in the port channel was suspended from 7:40 am to 9:20 am due to the intensity of the winds. In port operations, winds of 30 knots compromise the safety of navigation and vessel maneuvers, which may lead to the temporary suspension of activities. APS informed that new restrictions may be adopted if weather conditions worsen again, such as stoppages of activities at height, especially in the operation of cranes and containers. According to the port authority, each terminal has the autonomy to define operational measures according to the situation, maintaining the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by workers.
