VIDEO: camera captures accident at an avenue intersection in Limeira Renan Toquini de Lima Silva, aged 34, died this Friday morning (17) after an accident at the intersection of avenues Gumercindo Araújo and Fabrício Vampré, in Limeira (SP). An instructor at a driving school, Renan was driving a motorcycle and carrying a student on the back when he was hit by a car that ran a red light. A monitoring camera recorded the moment of the crash (see above). The images show the car at high speed before hitting the motorcycle. With the impact, the instructor and the student were dragged for around 150 meters. According to the Military Police (PM), the teams were called around 8:40 am. Renan and the student were rescued and taken to Santa Casa de Limeira. The instructor succumbed to his injuries and died. The student's health status was not reported. According to witnesses, the driver of the car did not provide assistance to the victims. He remained at the scene only because the vehicle was unable to leave the scene of the accident. He was a member of the Tomahawk team and also served as a coach for the Empyreo Leme Lizards. On social media, Tomahawk mourned the death and stated that Renan marked the team members "with his presence, friendship, generosity and affection for the sport." The team also highlighted that "his name, his story and the affection he built with us will forever remain in our memory". The São Paulo Football League (SPFL) also published a note of condolence. The league stated that Renan was "more than a coach" and defined him as "a reference for everyone inside and outside the four lines of American football in São Paulo". The entity also highlighted that his dedication to sport and athletes "marked generations".
