App driver goes viral for telling passengers' gossip, in Paraíba An app driver from Campina Grande, in Agreste da Paraíba, went viral for telling gossip he hears on the races and turned passenger conversations into content on social media. "It was a short race. Two women started talking about how one had separated and was marrying another boy. And her ex-husband was telling her that there was no need. It was a family fight. But then she started telling me and then I went there slowly, driving. As soon as the race ended, I recorded this story spontaneously. It went viral in a way I couldn't even imagine", he said. According to him, the repercussion increased when followers started asking for the story's outcome, something he was unable to discover. In one of the videos, he tells the story and appeals to passengers to avoid interrupting conversations before the end of the ride, as he is often left without knowing the outcome of cases. "People are wanting to know the rest of the gossip. I don't know anymore. There's no way of knowing, because I'm not going to find the woman, since I left her in a commercial building. And I wasn't going to contact the woman to ask for the rest of the story, right? (laughs)", he said. Emanuel claims that the reports shared are based on conversations he heard during work and that he avoids exposing the identities of the passengers. In the videos, he does not show faces or give names of the people involved. "People started to wonder if it was true and this is all a real story. There is no fiction. After the videos, passengers are recognizing me. They call me 'Uber Gossip'", he reported. "I caught a woman in a race who owns a store in Sousa (in the Sertão). She said she sent a suitcase to Africa, but the suitcase was lost at Guarulhos airport, in São Paulo. Now, everyone is asking and wanting to know how it will be resolved. This woman came to me and said she will tell me the rest of the story so I can share it," he said. People started looking for the driver to tell their stories. The driver said he was surprised by the number of messages received after the videos were circulated on social media. "I was surprised at the time, because I didn't expect it, because it was a normal thing. But I was happy, because I received a lot of messages from people who were following my videos. I even went for a run with a woman who said she was feeling down and when she saw my videos, she started laughing", he said. And with the increase in audience, Emanuel says he started receiving unusual requests from people interested in sharing their own stories. "In fact, to get an idea of ??the proportion it took, I arranged a race with someone from Spain to pick her up at Recife airport, next month. She said I could charge whatever amount it was, all so I could tell her story. And there are lots and lots of messages. People are coming to tell me their stories to see if I can tell them on my profile", he explained. The driver stated that he intends to continue publishing content on social media and that he has already received proposals for partnerships with traders. "People like the reviews. I'm releasing a video a day, because I already have a lot of history. Today I'm going to record a video with a boy from a bar to tell the gossip that people hear there", he concluded.
