Sabesp water treatment plant in São José dos Campos. Reproduction/TV Vanguarda Even after the resumption of water supply in São José dos Campos, announced by Sabesp after four days of interruptions, residents in different regions of the city still face fluctuations in supply. On the afternoon of this Thursday (23), Sabesp informed Rede Vanguarda that the forecast is to complete the total normalization of supply by 10pm. According to the company, around 95% of the distribution system had already been reestablished to date. ? Click here to follow the g1 Vale do Paraíba and region channel on WhatsApp

According to Sabesp, normalization occurs gradually because the system needs to recover the pressure and volume of water in the pipes and reservoirs. During this process, it is possible that some properties experience temporary interruptions or receive low pressure water until the entire network is stabilized. The company reported that the replacement of the intake system valves was completed and that the supply has already been restored in around 95% of the city. However, full recovery of the network depends on population consumption and may take longer in some regions, especially in higher areas and further away from reservoirs. Sabesp also reported that the water may appear yellowish in some points due to the movement of sediment in the pipes during the resumption of supply. In these cases, the recommendation is to let the water run for a few minutes until it returns to normal appearance. Oscillation in neighborhoods In Campo dos Alemães, in the South Zone, the water returned overnight on Wednesday, but the supply was interrupted again this Thursday (23). In the same neighborhood, other residents say that the supply has been restored, but with low pressure. In Jardim das Indústrias, in the West Zone, supply also continues to fluctuate. In the Industrial Park, residents reported the return of water with a yellowish color. In the central region, the main complaint is the low pressure in the taps. The situation is more critical in Bairrinho, in the East Zone, where residents say that the supply had not yet been restored as of Thursday afternoon.
