Camera captures moment when car collapses toll ceiling; driver died A security camera recorded the moment a car knocked down the roof of a toll booth on Rodovia Governador Adhemar Pereira de Barros (SP-340), in Campinas (SP). The accident happened around 10am on Sunday (26) and caused the death of the driver. The images showed the vehicle at high speed passing through the zebra crossing (watch above). The car then hit the concrete containment and was thrown towards the upper beam, which collapsed. Upon impact, a cloud of dust formed at the site. The recording also showed drivers waiting in the cabins reversing to avoid the debris. The crash occurred at kilometer 123 of the road. The driver, who was traveling alone, was rescued and taken to Jaguariúna Hospital (SP), but did not survive his injuries. The concrete structure fell onto two other cars, containing seven people. Despite the scare, none of these occupants were injured. On Monday morning (27), towards Mogi Mirim (SP), three manual and three automatic cabins were in operation. Another four remained closed due to the accident.
