Mother and baby carriage are run over by a runaway car in the South of SC A 23-year-old mother and a 3-month-old baby were run over by a car this Friday afternoon (10) in Forquilhinha, in the South of Santa Catarina. The two survived and were taken to the hospital, according to firefighters. The accident was caught on a surveillance camera. The images show the mother pushing the stroller where the baby was, next to the child's father. Then, a runaway car advances towards the family. Driver lost control of the wheel The accident occurred around 2:40 pm in the Santa Ana neighborhood. According to reports from witnesses to firefighters, two cars were involved in the case. One of them allegedly made a turn and the second, when trying to avoid the crash, lost control of the steering wheel. He then ran over the woman and the baby. The baby was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) team and taken to the Maternal and Child Hospital, accompanied by the father, for medical evaluation. The mother had light bruises and complained of pain in her right leg. She was taken by firefighters to the Forquilhinha Emergency Room.
