Hildon Chaves Mateus santos/g1 The União-Progressista Federation confirmed Hildon Chaves' candidacy for governor of the state of Rondônia. The decision was taken during a convention held this Monday (3), in Porto Velho. ?Download the g1 app to see RO news in real time and for free Hildon Chaves was born in Recife (PE), is 57 years old and has a degree in Law, specializing in Public Law. He arrived in Rondônia in 1992 to work as a prosecutor, after passing a public competition. Other candidacies approved at the convention: Cirone Deiró (União Brasil) for vice-governor; Mariana Carvalho (Republicans) and Silvia Cristina (PP) for the Senate. During the officialization of his candidacy, Hildon Chaves outlined a diagnosis and pointed to what he classified as the "financial crisis in Rondônia". In a tone of warning about the urgency of an economic rescue, the candidate highlighted his own administrative trajectory as the necessary credentials to be the ideal manager in the face of the challenge. "We are, based on all our life experience, whether in private life or as manager of the capital for eight years, we are putting together this huge team of good men and women from this state, so that we can help the state of Rondônia, which is really in need of help today," he said. The Progressive Union Federation (a combination of União Brasil and Progressistas (PP), will contest this year's elections in Rondônia with the coalition “From South to North, Rondônia stronger” with the Republicans. Convention calendar Conventions are events in which party members meet to choose candidates in elections. The deadline is August 5th. Next, the names must be registered with the Superior Court (TSE) by August 15th. The election campaign officially begins the following day. In this year's elections, on October 4th, Brazilians will vote for: president; governor; Senate (two seats per state); federal deputy; state deputy; district deputy (only in the DF text). Hildon Chaves's career Hildon Chaves was born in Recife (PE), is 57 years old and has a degree in Law, specializing in Public Law. He arrived in Rondônia in 1992 to work as a prosecutor, after passing a public competition. He remained at the Public Ministry until 2013, when he left the position to work in the private sector, mainly in the educational area. In 2016, he was elected mayor of Porto Velho and re-elected in 2020, remaining in office until 2024. He was also president of the Rondoniense Association of Municipalities to run for government, but left the position to aim for the elections.
