Allyson Bezerra was confirmed as a candidate for governor of Rio Grande do Norte by União Brasil Thiago César/Inter TV Cabugi União Brasil (União) confirmed Allyson Bezerra's candidacy for governor of Rio Grande do Norte. The decision was taken during a convention held this Sunday (26) at the Sports Palace, in Natal. Civil Engineer, Allyson Bezerra is a former state deputy and former mayor of Mossoró. "Delivering to my state the dreams, ideas and projects that we have, that I had the opportunity to do as mayor. And now I know the challenges and I know I will have a lot of courage to face them. I know the decisions we will have to make", said Allyson Bezerra. "Decisions for the majority of the people of Rio Grande do Norte who need it there, in the small cities, on the outskirts of the capital. It is with courage that we will transform Rio Grande do Norte and I am very excited, with the courage and youth to do so", he added. The União Progressistas Federation, which includes União Brasil and PP, will contest this year's elections in RN in coalition with MDB and PSD. Convention calendar Conventions are events in which party members meet to choose candidates in elections. The deadline is August 5th. Next, the names must be registered with the Superior Court (TSE) by August 15th. The election campaign officially begins the following day. In this year's elections, on October 4th, Brazilians will vote for: president; governor; Senate (two seats per state); federal deputy; state deputy. Allyson Bezerra's trajectory Born in 1992 in Mossoró, Allyson Bezerra has a degree in Science and Technology and Civil Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Semi-Árido (Ufersa), an institution where he also became a member of staff at the age of 20. He began his political career in 2018, when he was elected state deputy in Rio Grande do Norte. In 2020, he ran for and won the elections for mayor of Mossoró, being re-elected in 2024. He resigned from his position in March of this year to contest the elections for the government. The candidate is also a specialist in Environmental Engineering from the Cândido Mendes University of Rio de Janeiro/RJ and a master's degree in Soil and Water Management from the Universidad de Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (Ufersa). In January of this year, Allyson Bezerra was the target of a Federal Police (PF) operation to dismantle a criminal scheme of embezzlement of public resources and fraud in health bidding processes in Rio Grande do Norte.
