Two teenagers are apprehended in an operation against drug trafficking in Timon Disclosure/ Civil Police Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were apprehended this Friday (17) during an operation against drug trafficking in the region known as "Beira da Linha", in the Guaritas neighborhood, in Timon. According to the Maranhão Civil Police, they were used to sell drugs there. The action sought to dismantle the city's main drug sales point. ? During the action, police seized portions of marijuana and crack, knives, money and two bicycles registered as stolen. According to police, the teenagers sold drugs in a shack used exclusively for this purpose. After the approach, they were taken to the police station for legal proceedings. The action is part of Operation Protector of Divides, promoted by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security in partnership with the State Secretariat for Public Security of Maranhão. The initiative is part of the Brazil Against Organized Crime program. The operation takes place simultaneously in municipalities in Maranhão that border other states. The objective is to reinforce the fight against crime with prevention and repression actions. In Timon, the mobilization brings together civil and military police, including teams sent from the capital of Maranhão. Reinforced policing will be maintained for ten days this July.
