The car was located by Montenegro federal highway police in Canoas, heading towards Porto Alegre. During the approach, agents confirmed that the occupants matched the information previously received. The driver, 38 years old and born in Porto Alegre, has a history of bodily injury and embezzlement. One of the passengers, 31 years old and born in Canoas, has records for drug trafficking, bodily harm and home invasion. According to the PRF, he had also been detained on other occasions for trying to introduce drugs into a prison. The third occupant of the car had no criminal record.
