According to information gathered at the scene, the crime would have occurred during the early hours of the morning. Throughout the day, family members spent the day trying to contact the victims, but received no response. Worried, they went to the residence and, when no one answered, one of Francisco's nephews climbed onto the roof, removed some tiles and found Maria de Fátima and Raniele already dead inside the house. According to the Civil Police, the initial investigations indicate, preliminarily, that Francisco Jolvino da Silva had murdered his partner, Maria de Fátima de Oliveira Silva, and his daughter, Raniele Oliveira Silva, using a bladed weapon. He then committed suicide by hanging. The area was isolated for forensic work. Teams from the Military Police, Civil Police, Fire Department and Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) were on site to carry out investigation procedures and remove the bodies. According to the delegate responsible for the case, Neilson Albuquerque, the initial investigations reinforce the hypothesis of double femicide followed by suicide, but the investigation is still ongoing to clarify the circumstances and motivation for the crime.
