The shot that killed a councilman's son on the beach was fired by an off-duty civil police officer, says SSP

The shooting took place during an argument at Praia do Porto Franco, in Couto Magalhães. The young man was the son of Couto councilor Magalhães Lindomar Gomes da Silva (PT), known as Preto das Máquinas. The suspect left the scene in a car after the shooting. The police officer's name was not released and g1 was unable to contact his defense. He introduced himself and was interviewed by the police. The case happened on Sunday afternoon (19), in the district of Porto Franco do Araguaia. According to the PM, there was a disagreement between patrons of a commercial establishment located on the beach at around 5pm. ? He was rescued and taken to the municipal health unit, but he did not survive his injuries.
