Suspect dies and another is injured after attempted robbery at a business in MA An attempted robbery at a business ended with one suspect dead, one arrested and another injured on Wednesday afternoon (8), in the Center of Timbiras, 316 km from São Luís. According to the Maranhão Military Police (PM-MA), three men participated in the crime. They approached the owner of the establishment, who was at the cash register, and searched him for valuables. Upon arriving at the scene, police found one of the suspects near the cash register. He was armed and, after receiving an arrest order, he threw the revolver on the ground and surrendered. While the man was being arrested, police were informed that there were two more robbers inside the store. The pair were seen fleeing through the back of the store, after jumping over a wall. Police officers searched the region and, shortly after, found the two suspects hiding in a house close to the crime scene. According to the PM, during the approach, one of them pulled out a gun at the police, who shot and hit the pair. One of the suspects was shot in the leg and received first aid from a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). The other was hit in the stomach area, was rescued, but died at the scene. With the suspects, the PM seized two revolvers, ammunition, two cell phones, R$730 and a motorcycle used in the crime.
