STF orders house arrest of Raimundo Cutrim, former secretary of Public Security of Maranhão Reproduction/TV Mirante The former secretary of Public Security of Maranhão and former state deputy Raimundo Cutrim presented himself to the Federal Police Superintendence, in São Luís, late this Saturday afternoon (18), to comply with a decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which ordered his house arrest. The warrant was issued on Friday night (17) and forwarded to the Federal Police. The process is being processed under secrecy, and the STF did not disclose the content of the decision or the reasons that led to the adoption of the measure. ? He left the scene wearing an electronic ankle bracelet and was taken to the residence where he will serve house arrest.

STF authorized search and seizure In addition to house arrest, the STF authorized the execution of a search and seizure warrant at an address linked to Raimundo Cutrim. The decision allows the Federal Police to seize documents, computers, cell phones, storage devices and other materials considered relevant to the investigation. The warrant also authorizes the carrying out of inspections on electronic equipment and the seizure of cash values ??exceeding R$10,000, in addition to high-value goods that may be related to the facts investigated. The order is valid for 15 days and was based on article 240 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Who is Raimundo Cutrim Born in São João Batista, in Baixada Maranhense, Raimundo Soares Cutrim is a lawyer, Federal Police delegate and former state deputy. He began studying Law at the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) and completed his graduation in 1982 at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). Cutrim joined the Federal Police in 1981, as an agent. After passing a public exam, he became a delegate at the institution and worked in different states. In Maranhão, he commanded the Public Security Secretariat in two periods: from 1997 to January 2006 and between April 2009 and March 2010. In politics, he served three consecutive terms as state deputy, between 2007 and 2018. He also ran for Mayor of São Luís in 2008, but was not elected. In 2018 and 2022, he tried to return to the Legislative Assembly, without success. In January 2025, he was appointed extraordinary state secretary for Legislative Affairs of Maranhão.
