"It is a high concentration for the type of organism we work with, as it has the capacity for bioaccumulation. Therefore, as more shrimp are consumed, these contaminants accumulate in the human organism itself. Currently, we are able to observe that the rivers are contaminated, showing strong anthropic pressure, which can be detected by the shrimp as indicators of environmental degradation", highlighted Jefferson.
