Prolagos is running around 4.4 kilometers of distribution network to bring treated water to more than 5 thousand people. The interventions represent a significant change for residents who, for years, depended exclusively on well water for their daily activities. "I've lived here for 23 years and we've always used well water for everyday life. For drinking and cooking, we needed to buy gallons of water. Now we're eager to start receiving treated water. It's an achievement that improves the community's life and adds value to our neighborhood," said resident Jerri Adriano Eugênio da Silva. A resident of Rua Cosme de Souza, Maria Madalena da Conceição is waiting for the works to be completed so she can stop buying gallons of water for drinking and cooking. "We have always used well water here at home for our chores, but recently I have needed to buy gallons of water to drink and make food. I am very happy and hopeful for the arrival of running water", celebrates the housewife. The project envisages the implementation of a modern supply infrastructure, sized to meet the region's growth and ensure greater operational efficiency. The works are scheduled for completion in 2026. In addition to the implementation of the network, the system will have monitoring equipment that allows monitoring, in real time, the volume and pressure of the water distributed, helping to identify leaks and carry out preventive maintenance. "The arrival of treated water at Manoel Corrêa represents an important advance for the quality of life of the population and for the development of the locality. We are working to deliver a safe, efficient and prepared structure to serve residents with regularity and quality", highlighted Maicon Urbaneto, responsible for Prolagos. Special assistance for residents In parallel with the infrastructure works, teams from the concessionaire are also creating new license plates so that properties can be connected to the supply system. According to Prolagos Commercial Coordinator, Simone Moreira, this stage of work is essential to guide residents about the connection process and the benefits offered by the concessionaire. "Our team is present in the neighborhood to carry out registrations, clarify doubts and guide each resident on the steps necessary to connect to the network. It is a close service, designed to facilitate this process and ensure that everyone can enjoy treated water with safety and quality", he explains. Residents who meet the criteria may be included in the Social Tariff program, which grants a 50% discount on water bills. Among the requirements, the customer must have a family income of up to three minimum wages, be enrolled in government social programs and have an average monthly consumption of up to 10 cubic meters.
