Ocergs panel between pre-candidates for the government of Rio Grande do Sul Diego Nuñez/g1 The main pre-candidates for the government of Rio Grande do Sul held a debate of ideas during a panel held by the Union and Organization of Cooperatives of the State of RS (Sistema Ocergs). At the time, they sought to differentiate themselves from each other in proposals and in their way of governing. The panel included pre-candidates Gabriel Souza (MDB), deputy governor of the state; Luciano Zucco (PL), federal deputy and former leader of the opposition in the Federal Chamber; and Marcelo Maranata (PSDB), former mayor of Guaíba. Juliana Brizola did not attend, citing health reasons. (See below) ? Access the g1 RS channel on WhatsApp The event was a panel, not a debate. In other words, there was no direct confrontation or exchange of questions between the candidates for the Piratini Palace. There were four thematic blocks in which everyone answered the same questions, related to preparation against extreme weather events, bottlenecks in the state's economy and cooperativism. Gabriel sought to highlight achievements of the Eduardo Leite (PSD) government. Therefore, he defends the continuity of the same political group in Palácio Piratini: Leite was governor for two terms and, before, the head of the Executive, José Ivo Sartori, was from his party.

"I feel prepared to be the next governor, but mainly to avoid setbacks. The state has already experienced moments with unbalanced accounts, it was unable to make investments. We cannot go back and interruptions end up causing setbacks", declared the emedebista. He believes that his advantage lies in the experience gained as deputy governor of the state since 2023: "The governor's chair is the worst place to learn how to govern from scratch. You have to arrive with a certain amount of baggage," he said. Zucco recognized “advances” in the Leite government, but part of his focus was aimed at stating that the state government needs to deliver more. "It would be unfair if I said that there was no progress. There was progress, even more so after the left-wing government of Tarso (Son-in-law, PT, former governor of RS). But was it enough? RS is a state that has grown the least, among all the states in the Federation, for more than 20 years", he pointed out. The deputy also stated that Rio Grande do Sul needs to return to being a protagonist at the federal level. "We have to have political strength, we are not an island. We have to have strength in the Federal Chamber, in the Senate of the Republic. Several agendas pass there. We need leadership, courage, strength." Maranata presented himself as a manager who is not tied to either Lula or Bolsonaro. Linked to the municipalist agenda, it sought to highlight the importance that the city hall experience can have for the position of state government. "I wanted to know where the city hall is that any of them managed. Where is the health center, the school. Being mayor means being close to people on a daily basis, to entrepreneurs, to making decisions. We have to be close, there is no way we can do it", he declared. He also criticized polarization, highlighting situations in which deputies from Rio Grande do Sul voted differently in Brasília: "The state, which is experiencing a climate problem, will need money. So, it will have to learn to not only negotiate among ourselves. When it comes to voting for a benefit for Rio Grande do Sul, our bench is divided", he criticized. The absence of pre-candidate Juliana Brizola (PDT) did not go unnoticed by her opponents. On the contrary — it was highlighted on several occasions by those taking the floor. What Juliana's pre-campaign says "To President Darci Hartmann, the board of directors of Ocergs and all representatives of Rio Grande do Sul's cooperativism, Juliana Brizola's pre-campaign coordination (PDT) informs that, for health reasons, the pre-candidate will not be able to participate in the Panel of Pre-Candidates for the State Government, held this Monday at the Ocergs headquarters. Juliana Brizola deeply regrets her absence from such an important meeting for Rio Grande do South. He has great respect for Ocergs, for its trajectory in defense of cooperativism and for the decisive contribution that the sector offers to the economic and social development of our State. He also reaffirms his respect for president Darci Hartmann, the entity's board, the directors of the cooperatives and all the participants of the event, thanking them for their invitation and understanding. Juliana remains available to dialogue with Gaucho cooperativism, recognizing its importance in building a more developed and prosperous Rio Grande do Sul.
