Police operation arrests suspects of committing sexual crimes against children and adolescents in Maceió

"The objective was to arrest those being investigated and collect materials that contained child sexual abuse content. The investigation is recent, after receiving complaints, and we began efforts to locate and arrest the targets as quickly as possible", explained delegate Maíra Balbi. Delegate Talita Aquino explained that at least two victims were identified. One of them, a teenager, was being abused for around three years by her music teacher. The other victim would be a two-year-old child, who was being abused by the Ifal teacher. He is also suspected of animal abuse. "In one of the cases, we arrived through anonymous complaints and, in the other case, it was the family members themselves who filed a police report. In the case of the Ifal professor, we did not hear from the institute because there was no connection with his professional activity", stated the delegate.
