The Federal Police seized this Wednesday (8) a shotgun registered in the name of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The weapon was located in the home of a man in Cachoeirinha, Rio Grande do Sul, who voluntarily contacted the Federal Police to inform them that he had the weapon and to show interest in handing it over. As there was no possibility of regularizing the transportation of the shotgun, PF agents went to the address to collect the weapons and take the appropriate measures.

The weapon was the last in the list of weapons linked to the former president that had not yet been collected after determination by the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes. The weapon was the last one linked to the former president that had not yet been collected in compliance with the determination of the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes (understand below). This Wednesday, the PF searched the home of former president Jair Bolsonaro for weapons. The warrant provided for the search and seizure of weapons, ammunition, accessories and registration documents. Nothing was found. The action was authorized by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes, who pointed out differences between the weapons delivered and those registered in the name of the former president. According to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the conflicting information regarding the number of weapons in the former president's name motivated the searches. "Information appeared in the file indicating a discrepancy between the number of firearms regularly registered in the name of the convict and those actually delivered to the competent bodies, a circumstance that evidences, in theory, non-compliance with the judicial determination and recommends the adoption of measures aimed at locating and seizing weapons that may be kept under the control of the convict", stated Moraes. The minister also highlighted that the continued possession of weapons by Bolsonaro is a situation incompatible with the house arrest measure. Maintenance of house arrest and delivery of weapons Last Friday, Moraes decided to keep Bolsonaro under house arrest, after the end of the initial 90-day period. The minister also ordered the revocation of the former president's Collector, Sport Shooter and Hunter Registration (CAC) "as well as the immediate seizure of all firearms linked to him". In this decision, Moraes stated that the former president's current condition is incompatible with the possession of firearms and detailed the weapons that should be handed over. The measure was taken after a pistol registered in Bolsonaro's name was seized in a raid in the Federal District. REMEMBER: Bolsonaro testified for 5 minutes and repeated that he wanted to 'fix' the weapon seized in the blitz, says defense In response to Moraes' decision, Bolsonaro's defense informed that, of the 10 weapons mentioned in the first decision, two had already been handed over to the Federal Police in 2023 as determined by the TCU and eight would be stored in the Army Police Battalion, in Brasília. Former president Jair Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and 3 months in prison Pablo Porciuncula/AFP Given this information, Moraes ordered the Army itself to hand over the eight weapons to the Federal Police within 48 hours. The PF should also confirm the custody of the two weapons previously delivered. Last Sunday, however, the Army Police Battalion Command informed the STF that it did not have two of the eight weapons that the defense had indicated. According to the military, only six weapons were actually delivered to the PF. After the Army's note was released, Bolsonaro's defense said they carried out a new check on the former president's weapons and stated that the other weapon, a shotgun, was at an importer in Rio Grande do Sul.
