PF investigates group that hid drugs in air conditioning units after seizure in AM. Disclosure/Federal Police The Federal Police launched, this Tuesday (7), Operation Sordida Ventis to dismantle a criminal organization investigated for international drug trafficking, money laundering and association for trafficking. The group operated in Amazonas and Rondônia, with branches in the Southeast region of the country. The investigations began after a seizure made during an inspection by the Federal Highway Police (PRF), in Humaitá, in the south of Amazonas. The vehicle was carrying imported air conditioning units and was stopped after showing inconsistencies in the cargo's tax documentation. In total, the Federal Police carried out three search and seizure warrants and two preventive arrest warrants in Manaus. The orders were issued by the 4th Federal Criminal Court of the Judiciary Section of Amazonas. The devices were taken for analysis by the Federal Revenue Service, in Porto Velho. During the inspection, agents found around 63.4 kilograms of drugs hidden in adapted compartments inside the equipment, in addition to bottles of cannabidiol oil. ? In a second approach, the agents found drugs and rifles of foreign origin hidden in a load presented as a residential move.

According to the Federal Police, those being investigated could be held responsible for the crimes of international drug trafficking, association for drug trafficking and money laundering. The operation was called Sordida Ventis, in reference to the way the organization hid drugs inside air conditioning units in an attempt to circumvent inspection.
