Federal Police (PF) destroyed illegal marijuana plantation in Indigenous Land in Pará. PF PA The Federal Police (PF) destroyed 63,915 marijuana plants between the 28th and 31st of July in the Indigenous Land of Alto Rio Guamá (Tiarg), in the northeast of Pará. The action was announced this Saturday (1st) and is part of the 'Carcará' operation. According to the PF, the plantations were in difficult to access locations and required the teams to be transported by helicopter. Federal experts were also part of the teams, took samples of the seedlings and checked the quantity destroyed at each point on site. The survey showed that the plantation could produce more than 20 tons of drugs. The marijuana fields were in areas that are part of the municipalities of Nova Esperança do Piriá, Cachoeira do Piriá, Garrafão do Norte and Capitão Poço. According to the PF, these regions are not inhabited by indigenous people, who prefer the ends of Tiarg, and, so far, investigations do not indicate their participation in the crime. The corporation did not provide details about possible suspects. Just like last year, more than 50 police officers participated in the operation, which takes place systematically in the state.
