After three and a half years in office, the governor of Alagoas, Paulo Dantas (MDB), fully fulfilled 16 of the 41 promises made during the re-election campaign in 2022, according to a survey by g1. The Politicians' Promises project, by g1, monitors the fulfillment of commitments made by candidates for mayors, state governments and the Presidency of the Republic. At this stage, the survey considers a balance of what was delivered between January 1, 2023 and June 30, 2026, a period equivalent to three and a half years of office. Of the 41 commitments made by Paulo Dantas: 16 were fully fulfilled; 5 were partially fulfilled; 20 have not been fulfilled to date. Monitoring politicians' promises has been carried out by g1 journalists from all over Brazil since 2015. The unit was delivered in December 2025 and expanded the offer of medium and high complexity care for residents of the Agreste and Sertão of Alagoas. Create the Gateway program in regional hospitals The government fulfilled its promise by implementing the Gateway to refer women victims of domestic and sexual violence to the Integrated Protection Network. The initiative was implemented through the Violence Care Network (RAV) and the Lilac Rooms, spaces that offer humanized, specialized and confidential care to victims. The Lilac Rooms were installed in units such as the Hospital da Mulher Dra. Nise da Silveira and the Hospital Geral do Estado (HGE), in Maceió; the Dr. Ib Gatto Falcão Hospital, in Rio Largo; the Agreste Dr. Daniel Houly Emergency Hospital, in Arapiraca; in addition to all regional hospitals in Alagoas. Build 78 Family Clinics The government did not build the 78 Family Clinics promised during the campaign. According to the State Department of Health (Sesau), only one unit was delivered during the administration, in the Jacintinho neighborhood, in Maceió. What the government says: In a statement, the government informed that the strategy was reformulated with the creation of the Saúde À Você Digital platform, which offers telemedicine care to the population of the 102 municipalities in Alagoas. According to management, the tool expanded access to basic and specialized care, replacing part of the initial proposal for building the clinics. Create the Mais Médico Alagoas program The government did not create the Mais Médico Alagoas program, as promised during the campaign. The State Department of Health reported that the initiative was not implemented. The objective of the program was to offer a scholarship worth R$5,000 to medical students who are 2 years away from completing the course so that they can commit to, after graduating, working in the state or municipal network for a period of 2 years. What the government says: In a statement, the government stated that the proposal was met through the Health Until You Digital program, launched in December 2025. According to management, the platform guarantees free remote medical care for the population of the state's 102 municipalities, expanding access to medical assistance through telemedicine. Build the new LACEN headquarters building The government did not build a new building for the Central Public Health Laboratory of Alagoas (Lacen). Workers at the unit reported that the laboratory continues to operate at the same address. What the government says: In a statement, the government informed that the architectural and engineering project was completed and forwarded to the New PAC for fundraising. Complete the Hospital Metropolitano do Agreste in Arapiraca The government did not complete the Hospital Metropolitano do Agreste during the period analyzed. The work remains in progress. According to management, the investment in construction is R$202.8 million, in addition to R$64.9 million planned for the acquisition of equipment. Build the Cancer Hospital The government did not build the Cancer Hospital promised during the campaign. The unit is not included in the National Registry of Health Establishments (CNES). What the government says: In a statement, the government informed that the architectural, technical and engineering projects have already been completed and that construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026. Creating the Hospital for the Elderly in Maceió The government has not completed the creation of the Hospital for the Elderly in Maceió.
