"All three were active in the church, they had participation in the community, within the Verbo da Vida church. Our sister Alba was vice-president of our NGO Movimento, our brother Gean was a pastor at our church in Queimada Nova, Piauí. And our sister Ruth was the daughter of pastors from our church in Santa Cruz. We were all taken by surprise by this tragedy, the church is very moved by all of this", he said. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the incident involved a trailer loaded with ore and passenger cars. According to witnesses, one of the vehicles stopped on the shoulder and then the trailer collided with the cars. The three victims who died were identified as Alba Simões, Gean Santos and teenager Ruth Gomes.
