In total, around 100 police officers took to the streets to serve 12 arrest warrants and 12 search and seizure warrants. Court orders are complied with in the cities of Petrolina, in the Sertão of Pernambuco, Juazeiro, in Bahia, and in São Paulo. The investigations were conducted by Ficco's advanced base in Petrolina and lasted months. The intelligence work showed the existence of a hierarchical criminal organization, with division of tasks between leadership, middle management, financial operators and dealer network. To hide the funds obtained from crimes, the group used third-party accounts to receive dispersed electronic transfers, with strong signs of money laundering. The investigation also identified how the gang's distribution logistics worked. The person responsible for drugs outsourced all deliveries to a single motorcycle taxi driver, who was paid for each trip made. The elements will help to deepen investigations and identify others involved in the scheme.
