MP-AL carries out operation against tax evasion scheme in the 'scrap sector' Anderson Macena/Ascom MP-AL The Public Ministry of the State of Alagoas (MP-AL) carried out, this Friday morning (7), an operation to dismantle an alleged tax evasion scheme involving companies in the “scrap sector”. The estimate is that the criminals caused a loss of more than R$16.2 million to public coffers. ?Join the g1 Alagoas channel According to MP-AL, investigations indicate that companies in the metal recycling sector, known as the scrap sector, are suspected of practicing tax evasion, laundering of assets and tax fraud. The names of the companies investigated were not disclosed. Operation Desmonte was authorized by the 17th Criminal Court of the capital and carried out 12 search and seizure warrants, seven at residences and five at companies. The targets are located in Maceió and Marechal Deodoro. The report is being updated
