3-year-old boy beaten for not saying 'good morning' to his father dies in RS; missionary was arrested ? Access the g1 RS channel on WhatsApp The Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Sul called Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organization, to gather information about the missionary from the United States arrested after confessing to beating his 3-year-old son. The boy, identified as Oliver Golden Grayson, died in the early hours of Thursday (9). Dandre Jermaine Grayson is North American, 33 years old and has been in pre-trial detention since Sunday (5). He and his family, including his mother, arrested this Thursday, and four other children, passed through at least two Brazilian states before arriving in Rio Grande do Sul. According to the MP's deputy attorney for institutional affairs, Alessandra Moura Bastian da Cunha, the objective is to understand whether Dandre would be investigated for previous crimes. “Interpol’s collaboration has already been requested to be able to say whether this man already had a history in the United States, whether he was not wanted there, to understand his situation before migrating here,” stated the deputy prosecutor. Before arriving in the municipality of Viamão, the family had already been monitored in São Paulo and Santa Catarina, where they lived. "We are now requesting the antecedents of these other states to understand if they already showed a criminal profile related to these attacks, which is possibly true. Whether in those other states there were police incidents or there was just monitoring by the network, we still don't know", declared Alessandra. She claims that the MP had not been called and became aware of the case only on the day the child was taken to the hospital. Dandre confessed in a statement to the Civil Police that he punched his son and hit the child's head on the floor because the boy didn't say "good morning" to him. The Public Prosecutor's Office, however, suspects that an object has been used and will investigate the hypothesis. "A search and seizure warrant was requested at the house to verify what the child's instrument of aggression was. The father's report would have been of aggression only with his fists and hitting the child's head, but according to the doctor's report, those injuries would possibly not have been caused only with fists and a blunt instrument would have needed to have been used", explained the deputy prosecutor. The agency also identified attacks against Oliver's three older brothers and must investigate the extent of family violence. "There is information about previous attacks on the children, the three oldest. Medical records are being requested from hospitals in all the cities they passed through, to check the extent of this situation, which, for some reason, and probably due to frequent changes, ended up not being dealt with in its entirety", reported Alessandra.
