Men arrested on suspicion of killing former police officer and throwing body in river in SC

According to the Civil Police, the two men, both homeless, confessed to having assaulted Dário, but claimed that he had thrown himself into the water to escape the violence. Investigations, however, confirmed that the former PM was killed by asphyxiation and that the body was thrown into the river to try to disguise the true cause of death. In addition to confirming the cause of death, the police interviewed witnesses who disputed the alibis presented by the suspects. As a result, the request for temporary arrest made by the Civil Police was accepted by the Court. According to delegate Felipe Martins, investigations continue to detail the dynamics of the crime. The names of those arrested were not released.
