Men are arrested on suspicion of looting more than 50 boxes of cookies in Leopoldina Leopoldina Municipal Civil Guard/Disclosure Two men, aged 28 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of participating in the looting of a load of cookies in the Redentor neighborhood, in Leopoldina, on Wednesday night (8). The products were in a trailer that overturned on Tuesday (7) on BR-116. According to the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), during preventive patrolling, a team spotted a man with a box of cookies. Upon noticing the vehicle approaching, he accelerated his pace and started looking back repeatedly. Suspicious behavior motivated the approach. ? When asked about the origin of the product, the man said he had purchased it from another individual. The information was confirmed after agents found, inside the packaging, identification with a PIX key linked to the alleged seller. The man then took the guards to the address where he had purchased the merchandise. At the scene, a family member of the second suspect said that he had been invited by his nephew to go to the point where cargo was being looted, but he refused the invitation. With the resident's permission, the team entered the residence, in the Quinta da Residência neighborhood, and found around 56 boxes of cookies. Six of them were open and contained several packages of the product. According to GCM, the goods had characteristics compatible with those that were looted from the cargo. The Federal Highway Police (PRF) monitored the incident. The two men were arrested and taken, along with all the seized merchandise, to the police station.
