Man is convicted of rape after luring teenager on the pretext of buying clothes in Inhapim

Inhapim Forum Euler Júnior/ MPMG A 43-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years, 4 months and 25 days in prison for raping a 15-year-old teenager and for coercion during the process, in Inhapim. The sentence was handed down by the 2nd Civil, Criminal and Children and Youth Court of the district and published by the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais (MPMG). The sentence must initially be served in a closed regime. According to the Public Ministry, the crimes took place in November 2025. The Court understood that the evidence produced during the criminal investigation proved the materiality and authorship of the crimes. The Public Prosecutor's Office also reported that, after the events, the convict and a woman began to pressure the teenager and her family to prevent the case from being reported to the authorities or to influence the statements given during the investigation and process. According to the complaint, the attempts included threats and offers of undue advantages, such as money and basic food baskets. Because of this conduct, the two were convicted of coercion during the process. The sentence highlighted that the defendant tried to prevent criminal liability through threats and attempts to influence the victim and family members. In a statement, the prosecutor responsible for the case stated that the conviction reinforces the commitment of the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais to the protection of children and adolescents who are victims of violence and to holding the perpetrators of this type of crime accountable.
