The day before the crime, the suspect, identified as Edson Rodrigues, had gone to his brother's house because he suspected that his own wife was there. According to the police, Edson called for his brother and his wife, but no one left the residence. Afterwards, he stated that he believed he was being betrayed. Deputy Richardt Zottis, responsible for the case, reported that, after the episode, the suspect had looked for a firearm and returned to the location the following day. According to the police chief, Edson approached the residence with a 22-caliber gun, found his brother outside and fired a shot. Robson did not survive the injury and died. After his arrest, Edson Rodrigues was taken to the Balsas prison unit, where he will be available to the courts.
