Joinville Dance Festival The Joinville Dance Festival, considered the largest in the world, starts this Monday (20). In this 43rd edition, works from almost all Brazilian states and countries such as Paraguay, Bolivia, Portugal, France and the United States were approved. The event is considered the largest dance festival in the world by the Guinness Book due to the number of participants and attracts an audience of more than 350 thousand spectators throughout the entire program. This year, Cia Jovem Basileu França was invited to bring the festival's Opening Night to life. This will be the first time in the event's history that a company will be accompanied by a live orchestra. ?? See the schedule: July 20th (Monday) - Opening Night The Opening Night, which officially marks the beginning of the Dance Festival, will be presented by Cia Jovem Basileu França. The show takes place on July 20th, at 7pm, at Centreventos Cau Hansen, with the presentation of the complete show “Don Quixote”. Unlike competitive nights, the show is not worth classification or prizes. July 21st and 25th and from July 27th to August 1st - Competitive Showcase The Competitive Showcase is one of the main attractions of the festival and brings together dancers and groups selected in different genres and categories. The presentations take place on the stage at Centreventos Cau Hansen, always from 7pm to 11pm. The public can enjoy modalities such as classical repertoire ballet, neoclassical ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, tap dancing, urban dances and popular dances. The Competitive Exhibition is one of the main attractions of the festival Nilson Bastian/ Disclosure July 26th - Gala Night The Gala Night will have two moments: one dedicated to classical ballet and the other to tango and contemporary dance. The presentation will be at 7pm, at Centreventos Cau Hansen. It is necessary to check ticket availability July 20th to August 1st - Open Stages Open Stages are an option for those who want to attend the festival for free. The presentations take place in different parts of Joinville and also reach cities in the region. July 20th to August 1st - Sneakers Fair Installed at Expocentro Edmundo Doubrawa, next to Centreventos, the Sneakers Fair brings together clothes, footwear, costumes, equipment, crafts, technology and other products linked to the world of dance. There is also a food court and performances on its own stage, with free entry. The fair runs from 10am to 9pm between July 20th and 31st and from 10am to 8pm on August 1st. July 25th - Dance Parade The Dance Parade transforms one of the main roads in the central region into a huge parade of dancers. In 2026, it will be held on July 25th, starting at 3pm, on Avenida Beira Rio. The route will start in front of Centreventos Cau Hansen and will continue for approximately 350 meters to Rua Max Colin, bringing together thousands of dancers in a great celebration of dance. July 28, 29, 30, 31 - Meia Ponta Festival The Meia Ponta Festival is the competition for small talents at the Joinville Dance Festival, which takes place at Teatro Juarez Machado. Performances take place at Teatro Juarez Machado and include different genres, such as ballet, jazz, contemporary dance and popular dances. There will be four afternoons: July 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st in two sessions, the first at 2pm and the second at 4pm. On August 1st, the Afternoon of Champions takes place at 2pm. July 22nd, 23rd and 24th - Festival 40+ The Festival 40+ opens space for adult dancers and groups made up of participants over 40 and 60 years old.
