The meeting takes place on August 1st, in Ribeirão Preto (SP), and is part of the Palco Brasil program, which in this edition has the theme "From North to South" and celebrates the country's cultural diversity. Celebrating 20 years of career, Tucumanus arrive at the festival after consolidating a trajectory marked by the combination of rock, guitars and references from Amazonian popular culture. Over these two decades, the band became one of the main names in music produced in the North region. "Representing the Brazilian Amazon at João Rock, alongside Victor Xamã, is a historic opportunity. In addition to giving visibility to the sound produced in our region, it is also an opening to present to the national scene a work built over two decades. The festival arrived as a gift and we will represent the North with pride and a lot of sound", says Denilson Novo, guitarist and founder of the group. Among the highlights of the new generation of northern music, Victor Xamã is experiencing one of the most important moments of his career. The rapper has just released "Estreito", an album produced alongside South Korean WillsBife, which brings together sounds from the Amazon and South Korea in a mix of rap, neo soul and musical experiments. Recognized for incorporating ancestry, Amazonian identity and social issues into his compositions, the artist will take this language to the encounter with Os Tucumanus on Palco Brasil. "I feel flattered to represent my region alongside such an important and symbolic band for Manaus. While I was scribbling my first lyrics, I always followed Os Tucumanus shows. The speech of resistance and appreciation of our Amazonian roots certainly directly influenced my rhyme. I love playing at festivals, I found this line-up very interesting and I'm preparing something special", highlights the rapper.
