'It looked like a teddy bear': pig rescued from a pigsty in SC 'adopts' Golden A video recorded in Jaguaruna, in the south of Santa Catarina, went viral on social media for showing a Golder Retriever dog sleeping hugging a pig. As of Saturday (1st), the record had accumulated more than 2.5 million views and almost 500,000 likes. The images were recorded by the animals' owner Bruna Coral da Luz, who lives on a farm in the region. She said that Peppa the pig was recently adopted, after visiting a pigsty on July 21st. ?Click and follow the g1 SC channel on WhatsApp Since the arrival of the new member, coexistence with the other four dogs on the property was immediate, but the bond with the dog Mel stood out. "Since then, she has been with our dogs, but she became attached to Mel. I think she adopted her as her mother, and Mel loves her too. They are always together, sleeping or playing", says Bruna. ? In the images recorded at night on the property's lawn, Mel appears lying down holding the pig, who is wearing a pink outfit. The camera zooming in reveals the moment when the pig moves and touches its nose to the dog's face, which wakes up and responds with caresses and licks. The owner remembers that the registration happened by chance, while checking how the animals were doing. "I saw them sleeping and recorded it. I even got close to see if they were alive, because they were in such a deep sleep that I even touched them", laughs Bruna. Little pig should reach around 200 kilos At just one month old, Peppa should reach around 200 kilos as an adult. According to Bruna, the family has plenty of space on the farm and guarantees that the animal is a pet. Although he used to record the routine of the animals on the property, the repercussions took on unprecedented proportions for the family. "The first video of her rescued from the pigsty already had a lot of likes, but nothing like this. We are still in shock here with the power of the internet", he says. "If this doesn't warm your heart, I don't know what will," wrote one person in the video's comment on social media. "I swore it was a piggy bear," another follower posted.
