'I was happy to have got a job', says the cousin of a young woman who died after falling off her bicycle and being run over Personal Collection Evelyn Dayane Souza, aged 27, who died this Thursday afternoon (16) after falling off her electric bicycle and being run over by a truck, in the Industrial District of Indaiatuba (SP), had got a job and was happy with the new phase of her life. The report was made by the victim's cousin, Joiciele Mattos, who also told g1 that Evelyn bought the electric bicycle to travel to her new job. "She finished her studies [high school] last year, she was happy to have gotten a job, she bought the electric bike to go to work. She wanted to go on trips with her family and enjoy it with them", commented Joiciele, who said she considers her cousin as a "sister from the heart". Among Evelyn's passions was music: she was a fan of country singer Luan Santana and, as a child, she liked the songs of the group KLB. The victim left behind her husband, whom she had been married to eight months ago, and two children, aged two and eight. The wake will be held this Saturday (18), starting at 9 am, at the Jardim Memorial Cemetery, in Indaiatuba. The funeral is scheduled for 2pm, at the same location. She used to organize lunches, dinners and get-togethers to bring together family and friends. The cousin said that, this Saturday (18), everyone would participate in a June party planned by the victim. "She had a giant heart. She fulfilled her dreams of starting a family, getting married in church. She was in love with her children, and with all the children — if she could, she would take all the children for herself —, in love with her husband who arrived in her life to care and love", said her cousin. Losses due to accidents in the family Despite celebrating the new phase with her husband and children, Evelyn carried the pain of family losses. According to her cousin, she lost her biological father and adoptive father in accidents, events that marked her life. "And today we are here suffering the pain of her departure and the loss she already makes us. Because she lived intensely. Wherever she went she left traces... That was Bá [as her family called her", said Joiciele. The accident Cyclist dies after being run over on the Campinas-Monte Mor Highway, in Campinas The accident happened around 5pm, on Rua Antônio Barnabé. According to Indaiatuba City Hall, a team from the Municipal Emergency Assistance Service (Same) was called, but the doctor found that the driver of the electric bicycle was already dead. According to the Military Police, the incident was recorded as a traffic accident of the type "overturn followed by being run over". The Public Security Secretariat of the State of São Paulo (SSP-SP) reported that the 31-year-old truck driver is being investigated for manslaughter while driving a motor vehicle. He told the police that the cyclist approached suddenly and that there was no time to avoid the collision. The driver remained at the scene and the breathalyzer test resulted negative for alcohol consumption. The Civil Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
