The feminicide took place in the early hours of last Sunday (5), in Cataguases, in the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais. The court granted urgent protective measures and ordered his arrest. However, they were later revoked at the victim's request. On the day of the feminicide, according to the arrest report, the suspect confessed to the crime shortly after being arrested, but, during the official statement, he remained silent. The Public Defender's Office, responsible for the defense, reported that it does not comment on specific criminal cases and that it only speaks out when there is criticism or questions about its own actions. Witnesses informed the police that they heard the couple arguing before the crime. The suspect was arrested on Sunday afternoon. It was not known where he was found. The two children stayed with family members. In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the man was arrested in the act and was sent to the prison system.
