A fugitive for killing a woman in RJ and hiding her body in a refrigerator is arrested in PR. Renan de Lorena Rem de Jesus, 32 years old, was arrested this Tuesday (21). He was found in Foz do Iguaçu, in the west of Paraná, and was on the run for having killed his partner and hiding her body inside a refrigerator, in Rio das Ostras, in Rio de Janeiro. ? Since then, according to police chief Rodrigo Colombelli, Renan was being sought and passed through several cities until arriving in Foz do Iguaçu, where he lived hidden in a rented room. Afterwards, according to the delegate, he will be transferred to the local public jail and, later, taken to Rio. The delegate explained that he received information from the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro and the Integrated Tactical Group of Special Repression Groups of Paraná (Tigre) that Renan was in Foz do Iguaçu. "The team spent practically two days involved in this situation, in order to verify whether the suspect was actually here in Foz do Iguaçu. In this field work, it was verified that there was an individual with Renan's characteristics, who would be in this residence in the Lagoa Dourada neighborhood", explained Colombelli. The police found the house where the fugitive lived and broke down the door to enter. According to the delegate, the man initially denied being Renan and presented a false name. Only after being confronted did he confess that he was the perpetrator of the feminicide in Rio das Ostras. No weapons or drugs were found in Renan's house. He also didn't resist the approach. According to the police chief, he said that, to support himself, he begged for money on the street, made sales and worked as a bricklayer's assistant. "He said that he had no support from anyone outside, that he didn't know anyone in Foz do Iguaçu and that he was simply renting this room at the back of this residence. We also confirmed with the owner of the residence, he claimed that he would actually rent it for a monthly fee, and we verified that the owner of the residence had not committed any illegal act, he was actually renting it apparently in good faith", said the delegate. How did the crime happen? Renan's partner, Thaíssa Lino de Souza, aged 22, was found dead inside a refrigerator in Rio das Ostras. She disappeared on August 30th and was found by her stepfather on the night of September 3rd, 2025. To the police, this Tuesday, Renan confessed that he hanged the young woman during an argument. When he saw that she had died, he decided to put Thaíssa's body in a refrigerator. Rio de Janeiro police said at the time that the couple had a history of fights and allegations of false imprisonment, when they lived in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense. They had a relationship of approximately five years and had been in the house where the crime took place for three months.
