Alagoas Civil Police Disclosure/PC-AL A former employee of an industrial company was arrested this Tuesday morning (14) on suspicion of embezzling around R$43,000 in food voucher credits in Maceió. Police have not released the identity of the suspect. ?Join the g1 Alagoas channel According to the Civil Police, the 30-year-old woman created false registrations in the system to transfer the benefits to herself. The arrest took place in Rio Largo, in the Metropolitan Region, during Operation Vale-Fantasma, launched by the Police Intelligence Directorate (Dinpol). In the action, police seized cell phones that will be examined to assist in the investigations. How the fraud worked According to the police, the woman worked as an analyst in the Personnel Department and was responsible for registering benefits in the system. Taking advantage of the access, she linked false CPFs to the names of former company employees and requested new copies of cards.

As a result, the suspect began to embezzle and receive credits that would have gone to at least 10 former employees. Investigations indicate that the criminal scheme lasted around eight months. During this period, the police identified approximately 130 fraudulent transactions, which caused an estimated loss of R$43,000 to the company. Also according to the Civil Police, the audacity of the fraud drew attention: one of the registrations even used the CPF of a deceased former employee to embezzle money. Investigation and next steps The suspect was taken to the Flagrant Center and remains at the disposal of Justice. The Civil Police continues to investigate the case to determine whether there were other similar frauds at the company and the possible participation of third parties in the scheme.
