Voting in transit is intended for voters who will be outside the municipality where they are registered on election day. Before making the request, it is important to check whether there are vacancies available in the municipality where you intend to vote. Anyone who is in another municipality in Rondônia on voting day will be able to vote for all positions in dispute: president of the Republic, governor, senator, federal deputy and state deputy. Those in another state can only vote for the President of the Republic. The same rule applies to Brazilians who live abroad and will be in Brazil on election day. Who can request a temporary transfer? The Temporary Transfer of an Electoral Section can be requested by people who fall into specific situations provided for by the Electoral Court. Among them are: poll workers and people called to work in elections; professionals from the security forces and Armed Forces who will be on duty; electoral judges, prosecutors, Electoral Court employees and support teams; people with disabilities or reduced mobility; indigenous people, quilombolas, homeless people, residents of traditional communities and rural settlements; provisional prisoners and teenagers in detention units who have the right to vote. How to place the order? Anyone who already has biometrics registered with the Electoral Court can request a vote in transit or a temporary transfer through Electoral Self-Service. Those who do not have biometrics, or prefer face-to-face assistance, must appear at any electoral registry office in Rondônia with an official document with photo. In the request, the voter must inform the municipality and location where they intend to vote and choose whether the request is valid for the first round, the second round or both. Deadlines The deadline to request a vote in transit ends on August 20th. Requests for Temporary Transfer of Electoral Section can be made until August 28th. The Electoral Court advises that the voter is sure of the change before making the request. Once the request is approved, you will need to vote in the chosen location. If the trip is cancelled, for example, it will not be possible to vote in the section of origin and it will be necessary to justify your absence. Voter ID Photo: Agência Brasil/Disclosure
