The property also functioned as a motorcycle workshop. The victim suffered serious burns to his head, arms, legs and back. Approximately 50% of the body was affected by second and third degree burns, according to the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU). She also suffered injuries caused by smoke inhalation and needed to be intubated. The woman, who uses a wheelchair, was alone and slept in a hammock. ? The fire affected flammable materials that were inside the property, which caused the flames to spread quickly. The woman received first aid at the scene and was taken to the Caicó Regional Hospital. She was then transferred by a team from Samu to the Monsenhor Walfredo Gurgel Hospital, in Natal, where she remains hospitalized. After the rescue, firefighters controlled the fire and prevented the fire from returning. The causes of the fire will be investigated.
