According to police, one of the suspects tried to escape during the operation, but was surrounded by teams and surrendered. The action had the support of civil police officers from the 134th DP (Campos dos Goytacazes) and teams from the 8th BPM and the 6th Area Policing Command (CPA). According to the Civil Police, those being investigated are considered highly dangerous and are also targets of investigations into other crimes recorded in the Açu region, including cases related to the so-called "trafficking court". The incident was registered at the 145th DP (São João da Barra). The prisoners were sent to the prison system, where they remain at the disposal of the Justice.
