According to the Multimodal Control Center (CCM) of the Transport Agency of the State of São Paulo (Artesp), the victim was driving a van that crashed into the back of a truck at km 161 of the highway, in the lane towards the capital. The driver of the truck was not injured. The accident happened around 5:40 am and the causes will be investigated. According to Artesp, the shoulder and the right lane had to be closed to deal with the incident. Despite the closure, there was no record of congestion on the stretch. Teams from the Highway Police and the concessionaire Arteris Intervias, which manages the stretch of highway, responded to the incident.
