Divinópolis welcomes Mundoteca, space for reading and cultural activities The first Mundoteca in Minas Gerais was opened at the Ataliba Lago Municipal Public Library, in Divinópolis, in the Center-West of Minas. The space is open from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 7 pm, and on the second Saturday of each month, from 8 am to 1 pm. Mundoteca is already present in nine Brazilian states and has 28 units. Unprecedented in the state of Minas Gerais, the project is carried out through the Federal Culture Incentive Law, in partnership with the Municipality of Divinópolis. ? In addition to revitalizing one of the library's environments, the project creates an accessible and interactive space, with reading circles, workshops, soirees, storytelling and cultural events throughout the year. Around 10% of the collection is made up of books in Braille and audiobooks Mundoteca/Disclosure The project has more than 800 new books, works in Braille, audiobooks, Kindles, free cultural programming and activities aimed at children, young people and adults. The collection brings together literary classics, best-sellers, works for children and young people, books required for university entrance exams, as well as publications in Braille and audiobooks. The objective is to serve readers of different ages and expand access to literature. The initiative will also have permanent and free cultural programming. The proposal includes reading circles, art workshops, soirees, reading clubs, storytelling and themed events, transforming the library into a space for coexistence and cultural production for the community.
