Liz Maria Cardoso, 7 years old, took advantage of the scene to play. "I got really cold. Then our car got snowed in and I wrote my name," he said. Her mother, physiotherapist Daniele Cardoso, said the family will cherish the memory of the trip. "Taking another memory from Campos, when we were here on that date," he said. Due to the low temperatures, the Campos do Jordão halfway house expanded its operations during the winter and began operating 24 hours a day. The space offers 14 spaces, food, showers, toiletries, clean clothes and a safe place to spend the night. From Monday to Tuesday, six people were welcomed there. According to the service coordination, teams carry out active searches, mainly at night, to identify people in vulnerable situations and offer shelter. When those served are from other cities and express interest, they also receive support to return to their hometown. "In the winter period, we actively search for these people on the street. Normally, at night, which is the coldest period, we welcome them all to screen them, find out what they need and, if they are not from the municipality, forward them", stated Juliana Benachio, director of Special Protection of Campos do Jordão.
