The accident happened in a property on Rua Antônio Orides Pinheiro, in the Center. According to the Military Police (PM), the victims were identified as Enivaldo Costa, aged 49, and Leandro Teixeira Gonçalves, aged 35. The two were working on construction when a piece of wood used in the scaffolding structure broke, causing the fall. ? Leandro was rescued in serious condition and taken to Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Carmópolis de Minas, but he succumbed to his injuries and died after entering the unit. According to police records, witnesses reported that the two were performing work on the scaffolding when the structure gave way for reasons still unknown. According to the Military Police, the suspicion is that the workers were not wearing seat belts at the time of the fall. The Civil Police carried out an investigation and was investigating the circumstances and causes of the accident. The two were buried this Wednesday (8), at the Santa Cruz Cemetery, in Carmópolis de Minas.
