Mogi das Cruzes was the city in the region with the highest number of records Cauê Adamuz/g1 Alto Tietê recorded 265 cases of rape in the first six months of 2026. The data are from the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP). Of the 265 cases registered this year, 188 were rape of a vulnerable person. The number represents around 70% of the total. ? Rape of a vulnerable person is characterized when the victim is under 14 years old or, due to illness, mental disability or other condition, does not have the discernment to consent to the sexual act or cannot offer resistance. Mogi das Cruzes was the city in the region with the highest number of records. With 89 cases, it concentrated around a third of all rapes recorded in Alto Tietê.

? The number represents a drop of 9.8% compared to the same period in 2025, when the region recorded 294 rapes. Homicides In addition to rape cases, the SSP's criminal indicators also show a reduction in other types of crimes in Alto Tietê. The number of homicides recorded in cities in the region fell in the first half of the year. In total, there were 95 cases in 2026, compared to 112 in the same period in 2025, a reduction of 15%.

Suzano contributed to this reduction. The municipality recorded a 50% drop in the number of homicides. Crimes against property Thefts in general also fell by 28% in the comparison between the first half of 2025 and 2026. Among them, vehicle thefts had a reduction of 38%, from 892 to 552 cases.
