Accident between trucks scatters cattle along BR-364 and leaves three injured in RO A collision involving two trucks this Friday (10), caused disruption and the closure of BR-364, in the section between the municipalities of Ariquemes and Jaru, in Rondônia. The accident happened at kilometer 476 of the highway. According to information gathered by Rede Amazônica, one of the trucks was loaded with sugar and the other was transporting around 60 head of cattle. Shortly after the crash, a fire broke out in the trailer carrying the animals. To avoid further risks and save the live cargo, the cattle were released. Many oxen ended up scattering across the track, which further complicated traffic in the area. Images sent by drivers to Rede Amazônica show the flames consuming one of the trucks, while the animals run disoriented along the highway. (See video above). They were rescued and taken to receive medical care. There were no deaths recorded. The work to combat the flames and control the herd on the track mobilized teams from the Fire Department, the Nova 364 dealership and employees from a farm in the region, who helped deal with the loose animals. Until the last update of this report, BR-364 remained closed for the removal of vehicles and cargo, in addition to the recapture of cattle that escaped through the region. The Nova 364 concessionaire advises that drivers traveling along the stretch should pay extra attention and respect the signage while the road cleaning and clearing work is carried out.
