Students from Acre can compete for scholarships through the national Magnific/Freepik program. Students from Acre up to 15 years old enrolled in the 9th year of public school can register for free to compete for full scholarships in high school through a program from Instituto Somos Futuro. The national initiative is aimed at young people in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability. Registration is free and remains open until August 14th, via the program website. Since the creation of the initiative in 2017, more than 970 students from all regions of the country have benefited. Students can participate in the selection, which will distribute 222 scholarships in 58 municipalities in 14 Brazilian states. In the state of Acre, only one institution participates, located in the São Francisco neighborhood, in Rio Branco, and can draw at least two places. MEC event brings together mayors to reduce inequalities in education Selected participants receive a full scholarship to attend three years of secondary education without paying monthly fees and teaching and para-teaching materials, however, to compete for scholarships, candidates must meet the following requirements: Be enrolled in the 9th year of primary education in a public school in 2026; Be at most 15 years old this year; Present good academic performance in the last two years; Have an overall average above 8 in the 8th and 9th years of elementary school II; Have a gross per capita family income of up to R$3,242. In addition, candidates must send two videos, lasting up to 60 seconds each, as part of the selection process stages. In one of them, those responsible will answer about the importance of education and how they intend to support the student's academic training. In the second video, the student himself must explain why he deserves to be awarded a scholarship in the program. The proposal is for the participant to present their motivations, objectives and reasons why they consider they have the profile to join the initiative. Candidates must pay attention to the schedule and requirements of each phase, as there will be no second call. The announcement of the Somos Futuro program highlights that candidates can be disqualified at any time in the process, either because the number of applicants exceeds the total number of places available or because they do not obtain the minimum grade required in the academic assessment.
