Lua Luiz Gonzaga Renata Pires Show Between the 11th and 16th of August, Manaus hosts the 2nd Águas de Manaus Theater Show, which arrives even bigger after the success of the first edition, responsible for bringing together more than 17 thousand spectators. This year, in addition to national and local shows, the festival will feature workshops, conversation circles and meetings aimed at students, artists and cultural professionals, expanding the exchange of knowledge and strengthening the cultural sector in Amazonas. The official opening will be held on August 11th, at Teatro Amazonas, with a ceremony at 7pm. Then, at 8pm, the public will enjoy the presentation of the award-winning show Tom na Fazenda, directed by Rodrigo Portella and starring Armando Babaioff. In addition to Teatro Amazonas, the program will occupy different spaces in the city, such as Largo São Sebastião, Ponta Negra, Casarão de Ideias and the Centro Estadual de Convivência da Família Padre Pedro Vignola. The proposal is to decentralize activities, expand the population's access to the performing arts and encourage audience formation, while at the same time strengthening the theater production chain in the state. Throughout the week, the festival will bring together outstanding productions on the national scene. In addition to Tom na Fazenda, the program will include the scenic-musical show Samba das Moças, which honors fundamental figures such as Dona Ivone Lara, Clara Nunes, Alcione, Tia Ciata and Tereza de Benguela; and the play Luiz Lua Gonzaga", by Grupo Magiluth, a sensitive and poetic tribute to the legacy of the King of Baião. Among the Amazonian productions, the shows Aaarrg! Piratas!, by Amazonian artists Iogan Montefusco and Emily Danali, stand out, which invites the public to reflect on justice, inclusion and social inequality across the "seas of the Rio Negro"; Fértil, from Ateliê 23; and the award-winning Sarau do Feupuudo, starring actor Marcos Efraim.
