This Wednesday (15), England and Argentina met in the second semi-final of the 2026 World Cup for a place in the grand final of the championship, where Spain has already secured its place. With a rich history behind this duel that goes far beyond football, the 1982 Falklands War was present in the minds of fans and players throughout the match.

The English team ended up opening the scoring in the 9th minute, with a goal from Gordon at the Atlanta stadium, in the United States. At a disadvantage, Argentina pressed and in the 39th minute of the 2nd half Enzo Fernández scored for the brothers. In extra time, Lautaro Martínez scored the winning goal for the Argentines.
