On the occasion, Xande sang the only sung track from the young instrumentalists' first album as a duo, “New Paths”. The feat takes place in the re-recording of the samba “Tá Escrito” (Xande de Pilares, Carlinhos Madureira and Gilson Bernini, 2009), one of the biggest hits of the singer and composer projected as lead singer of Grupo Revelação. Made with the help of percussionist Pretinho da Serrinha, the re-recording of “Tá Escrito” will be released as a single on Thursday, July 16th, as the first sample of the album “Novos Pathos”. Scheduled to be presented on August 28th, in an edition by the record label Biscoito Fino, the album “Novos Pathos” is essentially instrumental and has eight tracks, seven of which are original songs and the success of Revelação. Of the seven original songs, “Baião tired” is the only composition written by Igor Souza. The other six songs are written by Ian Coury. Among them, there is “Choro sincopatia”, “Gala” and “Mexidinho”. Tuned in their passion for Brazilian music, the two musicians propose other perspectives on national genres such as choro and samba on the album “Novos comos” through the dialogue between the 10-string mandolin and the seven-string guitar. Born in Brasília (DF) and graduated from Berklee College of Music, Ian Coury is a mandolinist, composer, arranger, educator and music producer, having shared the stage with artists such as Cuban saxophonist Paquito D’Rivera, singer and guitarist Rosa Passos and mandolinist Hamilton de Holanda. Igor Souza is 25 years old and is a seven-string guitarist, arranger, music producer and teacher, with a Master's degree in Teaching Musical Practices from UNIRIO and a PhD student in Music, in addition to having collaborated on works with Caetano Veloso and Esperanza Spalding.
